We’re delighted to share some exciting news from BftF Plus: we’re launching a brand new Friday lunch club called Lunch@Plus, designed especially for disabled young adults looking for connection, activity and a welcoming place to belong.
Starting Friday 13 February, Lunch@Plus will run three Fridays each month (the second, third and fourth Fridays) at Our House in Wokingham, from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
Created with Our Members in Mind
This new session has grown directly from conversations with our members and their families about how we can make our learning and development activities even more inclusive and accessible. Lunch@Plus reflects what people told us they want:
More opportunities to socialise
Flexible, welcoming activities
A relaxed space to build confidence and friendships
We hope these sessions will appeal both to current members and to new young people across the local area who may be looking for community and meaningful daytime activity.
What to Expect
Alongside enjoying lunch together, there will be plenty of time for social chat, catching up and sharing news. Each week we’ll offer a variety of optional activities organised around our core themes:
We are strong – design, campaigning and advocacy
We are creative – art, craft and music
We are learning – building knowledge and skills
We are social – games, puzzles and discussion groups
We are healthy – wellbeing, fitness and food
Participants can choose what interests them — there’s no pressure, just opportunity.
February Session Highlights
Friday 13th: Art, Social Media, Puzzles & Games
Friday 20th: Sharing Stories, Music, Fitness
Friday 27th: Tabletop Boccia, Art, Writing for Print
More Ways to Get Involved
Lunch@Plus is joining our existing programme, which includes:
Regular social evenings (February includes bowling on the 18th and a quiz night on the 26th)
Our popular Sunday Sports Fun Club (second Sunday of each month)

What is BftF Plus?
Through our BftF Plus programme, we support young people with disabilities aged 16+ who often find that leaving specialist education leads to fewer structured opportunities, reduced support and increased isolation.
Our mission is to change that by creating social, learning, work and lifestyle opportunities that help young people build confidence, connections and pathways towards fulfilling personal and professional lives.
"We’re really looking forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new members to Lunch@Plus and we’ll continue shaping the programme with input from the people who matter most: our community," said Jasper Holmes, Plus Lead.
