We are always looking for volunteers to help at Our House, our playtherarpy centre and at external fundraising and awareness-raising events. It is a very rewarding opportunity! Centre Assistant – Part-Time

(8 hrs/week, flexible incl. evenings/weekends)

 

About Us

Building for the Future is an award-winning Wokingham-based charity supporting children and young people with SEND and their families. We operate Our House – a fully accessible play centre where everyone is welcome and included.

 

The Role

We're looking for a practical, reliable Centre Assistant to support the smooth running of Our House. This hands-on role includes light maintenance, supporting staff and volunteers, and welcoming families.

 

Key Responsibilities

•Keep the centre safe, clean, and welcoming

•Carry out small maintenance tasks and report issues

•Assist with health & safety checks

•Provide on-site support during sessions and events

•Help with basic admin, supplies, and resources

•Welcome and support families and visitors

 

About You

•Practical, organised, and reliable

•Friendly and approachable

•Confident around children and families

•Basic DIY/maintenance skills a plus

•Committed to inclusive, supportive environments

•Full UK driving licence and own vehicle required
