Amazing Kitty Holmes has completed an individual triathlon for Building for the Future.
Upon leaving college in July the twenty-one-year-old photographer and film maker set about training for her swimming, cycling and running event.
The original event was planned for 7th September but due to the unprecedented heatwave it was postponed for a week. Ever the committed professional, that gave Kitty ‘more time to train’.
The event took place a week later in Braywick Park and Leisure Centre with Dad Jasper as her sports guide.
Kitty told us that she is both ‘happy and relieved’ that her mammoth fundraising challenge is complete and she has successfully raised £2960 for our charity.
“Swimming is my best thing and I enjoy triking. Walking is quite difficult because it hurts my hamstrings.”
Kitty had to overcome a lot and push past the pain to complete the challenge.
“Walking was the hardest part because it can pull my legs and also because I did it last when I was so tired.”
Despite the challenges Kitty feels great after completing the event and recommends others give it a go.
“Go for it. Your dreams can be a reality if you really try.”
Her message to all who sponsored and supported her is one of huge thanks.
“I am so grateful and amazed at how generous everyone has been. Thanks so much!
“I am concentrating on my photography now because I’m making a calendar but you will still see me triking around Wargrave - come and say hi!”
