Procom picks BFTF as 'charity of the year'

The team at Procom, a Wokingham based construction consultancy, kicked-off a year of fundraising and support for Building for the Future with hands-on help on our stall at this year’s Wokingham May Fayre on May 5th.

Several members of the team from their Denmark Street office helped BFTF’s fundraising manager Jason McMahon prepare and run a ‘Spin the Wheel’ event for visitors to the town event run by the Wokingham Lions Club.

The day was a roaring success and our best experience at the May Fayre to date with over 150 families stopping by the stall and lots of awareness raised for our charity.

Procom first reached out to our CEO Jane Holmes, following an ITV Meridian News report on our bid for a new building.

Meeting the very next day, BFTF and Procom found that their values very much aligned and they announced their support almost immediately.

Procom’s official statement reads:

“We are proud to announce that our nominated charity for 2025-26 is Building for the Future, a local Berkshire-based organisation that does incredible work supporting children with disabilities and additional needs, along with their families.

“We hope this is the start of a long and meaningful relationship with a charity that makes a real difference in Berkshire. Supporting local charities like Building for the Future isn’t just about corporate social responsibility, it’s about being a good neighbour to all, and building stronger, more inclusive communities together.

“As a business rooted in Wokingham, we felt it was important to align our community efforts with a cause that is not only local but deeply impactful. The work Building for the Future does resonates with many of our team members, particularly those who understand the value of inclusion, accessibility, and early intervention.”

Jason McMahon, Fundraising Manager for Building for the Future, said the event was a huge success thanks to Procom, and a team BFTF of volunteers.

“It was a great day, full of fun and it was wonderful to spread our message to the community. We were delighted with the Mayor and Clive Jones MP for Wokingham popped by our stall to have a go on Spin the Wheel and show their support. What a fantastic Wokingham event and thank you to The Wokingham Lions Club for choosing us as one of their three charities to benefit from the day.”
