Take Part in Our Inaugural Charity Golf Day

Updated: 7 days ago

Building for the Future is proud to announce the charity’s first ever Golf Day.

Taking place at The Caversham on Friday, 29th August, golfers looking for a day of sporting fun can compete against other teams all in support of a local disabled children’s charity.

Eighteen teams of four will battle it out on the beautiful golf course re-designed by the renowned Canadian golf course architect Thomas McBroom, his first UK project.

The renamed Eyston Course (after its founder Jack Eyston) opened to the high acclaim of many respected figures in the golf industry in April 2021 and was followed in 2023 by major refurbishment to the clubhouse.

Team entry is £360 and includes a coffee and bacon roll breakfast before a shotgun start at 1pm.

There are games aplenty along the way to encourage maximum fun and participation and donations towards our new Our House, our unique, accessible playtherapy centre.

The Building for the Future Charity Golf Day promises to be full of fun and networking for local businesses, as Fundraising Manager, Jason McMahon, explains:

“I am so excited to be hosting our inaugural charity golf day at The Caversham on August 29th.

“Golf is always a great way to bring our supporters together to network, especially our corporate supporters.

“It provides a great opportunity to host their clients and bring colleagues together while raising funds for charity and supporting an amazing cause.

“Outside of team entries, we are looking for hole sponsors, a sponsor for 'beat the pro' and even a sponsor for the refreshment buggy which is well received from everyone participating.

“For an added fun element, we will be selling mulligans, and for those that want an extra advantage, they can donate to be given the chance to ‘move their lay’ - a 1m length of string that they can use to move their ball without penalty (although they have to cut off the length they utilize each time).

“We hope that lots of local businesses will join us to help raise vital funds as we look to move this year and refurbish our own home at Thames Valley Park.

“For more information, costs, sponsorship opportunities or if you are able to donate a raffle of auction prize (click here) or email jason@bftf.org.uk

“It will be a truly great day if you are looking to experience the course for the first time or returning for another round of golf but this time all in aid of an important local charity.”
