Willmott Dixon has raised over £36,000 in a single day for Building for the Future, a Wokingham-based charity supporting children with disabilities and their families.
As part of their 2025 team challenge, 12 teams of six took on the 'Race Across the LCO' – a high-energy, one-day event inspired by Race Across the World.
Up against the clock, teams travelled on foot, public transport and taxi, navigating through checkpoints across the company’s operating area, and making Wokingham a highlight of their tour.

Teams were tasked with quizzes, puzzles, and a mystery trail, testing their knowledge and creativity. They even faced a high-stakes bonus question challenge, where a correct answer doubled their score – or halved it if answered incorrectly!
Along the way, teams were cheered on by the community, including a stop for photos with Mayor of Wokingham, Cllr Carol Jewell, and BFTF champion, before completing their challenge and heading to a well-earned evening celebration.

“Raising over £36,000 is an incredible achievement,” said Richard Poulter, Managing Director, Willmott Dixon Construction South.
“It’s a testament to the power of teamwork, generosity, and shared purpose. A huge thank you to our supply chain partners, every participant, and all who supported us.
"Together we've made a real impact for a very worthy cause."
Each team was generously sponsored by one of Willmott Dixon’s valued supply chain partners: A2O Facades, Ahmarra Door Solutions Ltd, Amber Scaffolding Ltd, Craft Interior Limited, Goody Demolition Ltd, Harringtons Builders PLC, Interfix Services Ltd, KKMG SYSTEMS LTD, Malone Roofing Ltd, M R Scaffolding Services Ltd, NHE Carpentry, Oliver Connell and Son Ltd, and Paine Manwaring Ltd.
“The Willmott Dixon Challenge for 2025 was brilliant,” said Jane Holmes, CEO of Building for the Future.
“Seeing the teams in Wokingham and being able to cheer them on was amazing. The money raised is just incredible – we’re blown away by the support. It will help us so much as we work to expand into bigger, better premises.”
Support Still Open
