We are delighted to welcome Lauren Nash, an exceptionally experienced paediatric physiotherapist, to Our House as a new volunteer and families will have a special opportunity to meet her at our drop-in morning this Friday.
Lauren brings over 20 years of physiotherapy experience, including 17 years specialising in paediatrics, supporting children and young people from newborn to 19 across hospitals, specialist children’s centres, hydrotherapy pools, mainstream and SEN schools, nurseries and family homes. Her expertise spans neurodevelopmental conditions, muscular dystrophies, rare syndromes, mobility challenges and respiratory difficulties. She is also deeply experienced in working closely with occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, orthotic teams and wheelchair services — making her a wonderful fit for Our House’s collaborative, child-centred approach.
A Career Inspired by Family
Lauren’s journey into paediatric physiotherapy is rooted in something very personal. As a child, she watched her cousin — who has Cerebral Palsy — work closely with her physiotherapist. Seeing her cousin grow in confidence, independence and joy through that support made a lasting impression.
That early experience planted a seed that grew into a lifelong passion.
"I have always known i wanted to do physiotherapy with children and young people, due to my own personal experience of being inspired by my cousin, who has Cerebral Palsy and seeing her working with her physiotherapist. I knew i wanted to help people achieve their goals like she achieved hers. I love working in paediatrics and spending time getting to know the young people and their families, building close relationships and supporting families through the highs and lows; i feel it is a privilege and there is nothing more rewarding for me."
After taking time recently to focus on her own children, Lauren is excited and energised to return to practice and to join the community at Our House. She is looking forward to offering families a friendly listening ear, practical advice and gentle, hands-on support.
