Building for the Future’s inclusive play centre, Our House, was full of colour, laughter, and chocolate this Easter as 33 children and 16 families came together to celebrate at a joyful Easter party, made possible by generous supporters and dedicated volunteers.
“The Easter party was great,” said Nicki Mitchell, Centre Manager at Our House, who put a lot of effort into planning and running the event. “We had 33 kids and 16 families,” she added.

Thanks to the kindness of the community, the event was a resounding success. Supporters Wilmott Dixon donated a mountain of Easter eggs, while the ladies from St Nicholas Church Emmbrook brought in fruit, crisps, and other party essentials to keep everyone fuelled for the fun.
The children enjoyed a range of Easter-themed activities including arts and crafts, face painting, and an egg hunt with a twist—each child had to find a hidden cardboard egg and hand it to the Easter Bunny to claim a chocolate one.
With the sun shining, families were able to enjoy the garden too, making it a perfect springtime celebration.
At Building for the Future, events like this are a powerful reminder that Our House is a place where disabled children and their families are not just welcomed, but celebrated.
